The Type II Diabetes book I recommend

I am not a doctor. I am a 62 year old overweight man who has been fighting Type Two diabetes for six years. After taking six different prescription diabetes drugs and not getting better (actually feeling worse) I decided to figure out what to do myself. This is the experience I write about and I want you to understand this is “my real life experience” and what worked for me may not work for you.

The problem for the majority of type two diabetics is their body is resistant to the insulin it is producing. This means the body has lost the ability to utilize insulin properly.  You have plenty of insulin in your blood but for some unknown reason that insulin is not working to lower your blood sugar.

If you buy and read the book above it will give you a plan of action that may work to solve this problem. The problem is complex and this book explains in plain English what is going on in your body.

Exercise and diet are the most important parts to treatment of Type Two diabetes. The book above discusses diet and touches on the exercise element. Since I have been promising to tell you my “exercise secret” that is what I will discuss today.

Exercise is a key treatment for type two diabetes especially leg exercise. Walking twenty minutes every other day will lower blood sugar. Every day is even better. My problem was walking did not always fit my schedule and I did not do it. What I found out by working at the North Carolina State fair was just standing on my feet six to eight hours a day also lowered my blood sugar. Since I have been standing a minimum of six hours a day my blood sugar has fallen 15%! My morning blood sugar  test is now almost always below 100!

To get me on my feet six or more hours a day I changed some things. First, I rebuilt my office desk so I now stand up while working. Next I made a decision to just stand up between 9AM and 3PM no matter what I am doing. If I drive I just add standing time to make up the difference.  The first few days was hard. After that it got much easier. Good shoes also helps.

Please put your comments below. The more we talk with each other the more we will learn from each other. Reading the book above is also very important.  Order it today (just click on the link above)  and start your road to recovery.

You will learn from the book why bread is death for Type Two diabetics. Eating bread  is your choice and only you can make it. You have to decide, do I like my toes better than eating bread?

I just posted a link (above) to the book that changed my mind about Type II diabetes control. I would suggest you order this book because I will be referring to it often in my discussion. More to follow soon including my secret exercise method I discovered by accident while working at the North Carolina State fair.

I am not a doctor. I am not giving medical advice but simply sharing my life experience. I am 62 years old and overweight.

Doctors are often criticized for prescribing unneeded tests and procedures that harm more than they help and add to medical costs that could otherwise be avoided.  One medical procedure now being questioned worldwide as unnecessary and potentially cause sometimes harmful results to patients is prescribing Type 2 Diabetes Medication to Achieve Tight Glycemic Control.

There is no evidence that using medicine to tightly control blood sugar in older diabetics is beneficial. In fact, using medications to strictly achieve low blood sugar levels is associated with harms, including higher mortality rates. (American Geriatrics Society)

I have been fighting type two diabetes for six years. Each time I had my blood tested and my A1C increased I got a new pill. I was taking six different prescribed drugs just for diabetes.  I did not feel good. The medicine was not working.

What changed? I started researching type two diabetes.  In future posts I will take you through this research and what I did to reverse my type II diabetes WITHOUT taking six different medicines.  Will it work for you? I do not know and you will not know UNLESS you try something different.

My blood sugar reading was 92 this morning (100 OR LESS IS GOOD). I enjoyed a big dinner last night and even had a bowl of ice cream that I put honey on! My low reading this morning was, in part, because of something I did for five or more hours yesterday. Stay tuned to this blog and I will tell you more.
